Kip is an avid fisherman, restaurateur, and Waterloo resident with a heart of gold. He brings large volume restaurant operations experience and culinary expertise to the team.

Kip has lived in the Waterloo, NE area for (years) and when he learned his old neighborhood was flooding, he quickly got in his fishing boat and made his way to find and rescue them. Ignoring the dangers and smell of propane in the air, Kip rescued each of his neighbors making multiple trips to them to bring them all to safety.

After undergoing an outpatient surgery, this rugged fisherman was anxious to “do something” more than just a one night rescue. He wanted to help cleanup and get his hands dirty, but his doctor warned him about overdoing it. When he saw what Carrie Messinger was doing in a local church after seeing a post by Jeff Jackson on Facebook, Kip sprung into action and surprised her with a gift from his Jack & Mary’s Restaurant: 5-gallons of prepared chicken noodle soup!

Kip has caught many fish, but nothing could have prepared him for how this incredible meals program has just taken off.

“Wow, I just can’t believe it. Carrie and I didn’t even know each other before all this. Now we are overseeing a non-profit meals program that is feeding thousands of people. That just makes my heart so full. To see these communities in need and to see them in the shape that they are. Then to deliver something as simple as a meal. I just means so much.”
