We aren’t just delivering meals. We are caring for entire communities. These people and volunteers are special to us. Where we can help, we will.
When we learned about Bob sleeping in his truck without a bed or basic necessities for nearly four weeks, we chose to do more than a regular meal drop. A cot, basic supplies, a few shelf-stable groceries and a small cooler was provided to give him comfort.

We have also prepared special meals for our friends with special dietary needs, packed extra meals to eat later, and have begun providing snack bags with breakfast bars and fresh fruit to address hunger beyond boxed lunches.
Caring for Nebraskans who have had so much taken away from them is an honor. As we continue to work in these neighborhoods, we continue to bond with communities. Strangers become friends who converse with us by name and in the middle of chaos, friendships are growing. We also share resources with these communities and provide information about health concerns, and where they can find additional supplies and resources.
Sometimes it’s the small things. . .like giving a child who has lost everything a stuffed animal, that means so much.
